Although the United States prohibited the immigration of LGBTQ individuals for decades, In Miami LGBTQ Immigration have a strong presence, our city has become a beacon of hope and safety for LGBTQ immigrants from around the world more so for Latin-Americans in search of growth and opportunity.

In 2021 Miami-Dade County had an estimated population of 2,723,200 whereas 214,000 (8%) is openly denominated as LGBTQ population, making Miami-Dade the #5 Metropolitan area ranked by LGBTQ population. Records show that 43% of the LGBTQ community in Miami is formed by Latinos and 39% of the community holds a high school diploma as their highest education level, where the two dominant age groups are young adults (ages 18-24 / 19%)

Through our Programs, we educate and prepare our Latin Immigrant LGBTQ Miami Youth to interact and become a productive part of this diverse City while embracing who they really are, understanding their role in our society

Mission

At Support Miami Foundation, our mission is to provide unwavering support, education, and empowerment to the LGBTQ youth within the Latin Immigrant community in South Florida. We are committed to offering a range of services and transformative programs that affirm and celebrate their diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.

We firmly believe in the innate strength, resilience, and leadership potential of our LGBTQ youth, recognizing them as the future leaders of our broader community. Moreover, we hold a deep appreciation for the courage and determination displayed by Latin Immigrants in the LGBTQ Community who have sought refuge in the U.S., not only in pursuit of new beginnings, but also in their quest for safety and the fundamental right to live freely and authentically.

Through collaborative initiatives, tailored resources, and an environment of acceptance, we aspire to foster a stronger, more inclusive society where every individual is empowered to embrace their identity and contribute positively to the tapestry of our shared future.
